Happy Monday!

What a great weekend! We spent most of the weekend with family and/or friends. The weather held out and on Sunday it got to a comfortable 34 degrees in my backyard! The kids had a great time in the sprinkler and were exhausted come bedtime...unfortunately, so was I.

I made this card a while back, to add to my stash. The image was one I received from a swap on SCS, and is Riley Baking from Hanna Stamps. The sentiment is from Stampendous, and goes along with the new Summer line of Changitos. The paper came from my stash, and the card base is a dark green Bazzill that I picked up last year around Christmas. I'm almost finished the invites for my little one's birthday and I'm hoping to post them up tomorrow.

And, I picked up a few more Copics....okay 35 of 'em, and I'm hoping to get some time to just sit and colour this week. Happy Monday!

Hanna Sketch Challenge #77

Did you know that I have a great friend who has 2 kiddo's of her own (same age as my kids) and she offered to take my kids for a sleepover last week? Well, now you know! Then, to top it off, the hubby went golfing first thing in the morning, so I had 2 whole hours to myself. Here's what I accomplished (in no particular order!): 3 loads of laundry, tidy up kitchen, make a Greek Pasta Salad for Church Picnic later that day, Showered in Peace and 2 1/2 cards. I know, you're thinking, "2 1/2 cards?"

Funny story...the first card was posted yesterday and came together quickly. The second card was using a Riley so I popped onto SCS and checked out the Hanna Stamps Sketch Challenges and it came together very quickly too. All materials are CTMH except for the Image and Copics. I made this card for my SIL and her husband...they loaned us their trailer a few weeks back so that we could take the girls camping and I didn't have to sleep in a tent!
Then I hopped over to Sparkle's Blog to check out her Christmas Card Challenge, saw that it was a sketch and started crafting...then I looked at the sketch again, and actually read the post (kind of like when a man reads the instructions after the job is half done). Anywhoo, turns out it wasn't just a sketch, but there was a recipe too! So, the card I started won't work with the recipe 'cause I already glued everything down. Tonight I'm adding the sentiment to the sketch'd card and hopefully creating a new one with the recipe too. Thank goodness there is still time left! LOL!

Now I have a favor to ask...anyone live near a Dairy Queen that is giving out coupons for $7 off wristbands at the Nickelodeon Universe in Mall of America? We're hopefully travelling there at the start of August, but I'm not sure we'll pass a Dairy Queen on the way. If you've got one, post a comment and we'll get in contact.

Riley for your Birthday

I was so happy when I received this image in the mail. I received it through WishRAK on SCS, and I had been waiting a long time for someone to grant my wish. The timing couldn't have been better. My co-worker Wendy was having a birthday and I needed to make her something special. You see, Wendy's a runner and so she's sort of careful of her diet. I wanted to make her an "out of the ordinary" birthday card, not just something that said "Happy Birthday".
I especially loved this paper by CTMH (Magic Moments)...busy but not too busy. And, since I was already feeling creative, I finished the inside of the card too!
I printed the sentiment, which reads "There are no calories on your birthday!", on my computer and then cut it out and matted it....I'm finding the more cards I make the more I realize that I am sorely lacking in the sentiments department. I have been on a bit of a roll lately with making cards, so I should have a post every couple of days for the next while. Have a great weekend.

Happy Canada Day!

Crossing my fingers that the sun will shine! We planned a big BBQ this year for our friends and a few family members. In total there should be 11 adults and 8 kids at our house today! That's a lot of people if it's raining outside. This year, I worked it so that I had enough time to make invitations to the event...see below!
I snagged these images from the Canadian Image Swap over on SCS, and the card came together pretty quickly at Shanna's a few weeks ago. I even wrote down all the stamps that I used, but of course I have lost the sticky note I wrote them on. Of course, you recognize BBQ Riley...he's just fabulous. My husband was quite impressed that I had a Copic Marker the exact colour of a hot dog...go figure! Just goes to show that a girl can never have too many Copic Markers! LOL!

Anyway, enjoy the day wherever in the world you are.

Just Hangin' Around

I made this card just for the fun of it, and then I needed it! A co-worker of my husbands was hurt a few weekends ago and those left at work are going to give him this card.
I liked this image enough that I went to http://www.hannastamps.com/ and bought it. Despite all the great images that I am receiving through WishRAK and the Canadian Image Swap, I still love Riley and Stampingbella the best.
On a personal note, I went for an Echocardiogram today (ECG) to check out my Aortic Valve. Mom's valve problem was a birth defect, and it can be genetically passed down. Anyway, the coast is clear, I do not have the defect. The doctor had the tech do a full work up, so if there are any problems, I"ll get a call, but I'm confident that I'm in good health. Good thing too...I have a lot more cards to make! LOL!
