Get Well #3

I anyone going to enter my inspiration challenge?   I have a New Moon candle and some stamps waiting for the winner!  There's still time to enter.

This is the third card that I made for my friend who needed a get well card.  This one is super plain, but sometimes that's what works.  The image is from Bugaboos Stamps, and is digital.  There is another one that I purchased, and will hopefully be making some cards with next week.
Speaking of next week...did I tell you the kiddo's will be gone for 8 days?  My parents are taking them out sailing and they'll be gone for 8 glorious days.  I plan on making a whole bunch of cards, pre-making some DT cards and making invitations to the Rock Star's birthday party at the end of the month.

BT Update - all scans showed no growth and that the BT is dormant, which basically means that there is no activity right now.  We'll go back again in 3 months for another scan and then we can compare those to the first ones in May and go from there.  Other than that good news, the trip was a big flop.  Tuesday night, we walked and walked and walked and then it turns out the Richtree Marketplace is under construction and won't be opening until end of August.  So, off to the hotel we go.  Finally at 9pm we ordered room service (best onion soup I've ever eaten) and I crashed in bed at 10pm.  Up at 6 am to get to the hospital for 7:30, and when we arrive, they tell us that they don't have our booking...we aren't in the computer at all.  WHAT!?!  So, we have to wait an hour and a half until the rest of the hospital arrives and begin to sort out the mess.   Finally at 9:30 he gets taken in for scans...that take 1.5 hours.  Then we go to the Surgeons office and wait until 1:30 to see the Surgeon.  Finally make it out of there at 2:15...4 hours later than scheduled.  Rush into a cab to make it to Eaton's Centre to visit the Disney Store....and....prepare yourself.....the mug selection sucked!  Sucked beans!  Not regular sucked...I would have bought something....Ugh...so disappointed.  So, the kids got t-shirts and that's it.  We wandered the mall for a bit and then decided to head for the airport.  So, I didn't get my fresh-made Belgian Waffle with Strawberries and Whipped Cream and I didn't get a new mug.   I'm thinking...forget weight loss...I'm asking the kids to get me a waffle maker for my birthday, along with the new housecoat I asked for.  Asking for a housecoat makes me feel old...somehow, asking for a waffle maker does not.  Hmmm.

Thanks for reading my rant.  I'll be back tomorrow with a fresh card!

Stamps:  Bugaboo Nurse Margaret
Paper:  CTMH Indian Corn Blue, Outdoor Demin, Misc. Kraft Paper
Ink:  Copic Markers
Accessories:  Misc. Buttons, CTMH Ribbon, CTMH brads, circle punch

Funny image, I'm a retired nurse and that card looks like I felt most of the time. Cute card. Toronto sounds like it blowed...no waffle?

Fab card! Very funny image (me in my nursing days? No I was far too nice!) Well the scan results sound encouraging so that's great news. Sorry to hear about the rest of the trip (but really how many mugs do you need for work? What do you do? Tea tasting or something?!) I have entered you contest, must link though xx

Great card! Love how you coloured her hair.

I am supposed to be designing workshops tonight, but my friends have already encouraged me to be bad and design a card for Sparkle's challenge this week (since I just received my first stamp order from her)so maybe I will be able to come up with something for your challenge.

Ms Lindsey....you can never have too many cute mugs. You can always use them for pencil holders!

I get bugged not only about cute mugs, but cute green apple and 57 chevy blue stuff for my scrap room. Hence, why I am defending Danielle. Please don't take offense, Lindsey, I hear you are a kindred spirit like us. I am a smart ass like the rest of my family.

the card is soo funny! I was asked to make some Get well and Sympathy card and it looks like I have a brain freeze or something (how is that possible in this weather I don't know) :)
I wanted to enter your inspiration challenge - I already know what would I make, just no time - do you want to move the deadline? ;)

I agree, move the deadline girl and maybe I'll manage a card! lol, just joking. I'll see what I can do tomorrow, maybe...

This card rocks! My fave part is the sentiment! It makes me think of the time my hubby (boyfriend at the time) got his wisdom teeth out and was in rough shape. I was at University and my parents took him in for a few days. My Auntie (who is a nurse) stopped by to check on him as he slept on the couch. Just for fun, she walked in a put on a pair of rubber gloves - snap! He jumped up - afraid she was planning to give him something nasty! Maybe you had to be there - oh wait, I wasn't, I just heard the story several times.

Now that I've written a book...chat with ya later,
Shanna :)
