Fabulous Friday in 3-D!

Happy Friday!  This week over at i {heart} copics the challenge is to create something in 3D.  I struggled with this one for a bit...but once I got started it came together really quickly.  I found a quick tutorial on how to make an origami box and fashioned the lid to match.  Then I coloured up my Chicken Girl Designs image and decorated the box with My Mind's Eye papers.
Once the box was complete, I printed out more of my Chicken Girl Designs digital images and made some cute 4x4 cards to fit in the box.   The plan is to give the box and the cards to my Munckin, who wants to make cards just like her Mom.  This way, the cards are already made, she just has to personalize them by colouring the image and signing the inside.  Here us a picture of the whole ensemble.
Super fun to make, and a great gift idea for the kid who has everything.

Copics used:

Paper:  My Mind's Eye Ooh La La For Her
Ink:  Copic Markers
Accessories:  Misc. Pink Ribbon.

Gator Greetings

Have you seen the new digital images from Chicken Girl Designs?  They are so super cute, my favorite release yet.  I decided to make a "male" card with this gator image.  The layout is courtesy of Card Patterns #63.  Paper is all CTMH and of course, I used my copics to colour him.
There are a few challenges that this card qualifies for today including:

KL Stampin & Scrappin - Animal Appreciation
Dare You to Digi Stamp - Anything Goes (gotta love these ones!)

Paper:  CTMH Heavenly Blue, Sweet Leaf, Cocoa, Goodtimes DP
Ink:  Copic Markers
Accessories: Prima Flowers, CTMH Bigger Brad, fun SU Punch whose name escapes me but it makes the paper look like I tore it out of a coil book!

Fabulous Friday

This week over on i {heart} copics group on PCP we're having a sketch challenge...and there are new Chicken Girl Designs Stamps in the i {heart} papers store!
For my card, I pulled out My Mind's Eye papers Ooh La La For Her and some 110lb Neenah Cardstock.  I turned the sketch on its side and cut my card front in half.

Now, I have to be honest...I would have a hard time giving this card to anyone other than a girlfriend....every time I read the sentiment I think of "Monkeyin' Around" *wink* *wink*  LOL!  Of course, it works perfect for a kids card because kid's shouldn't know about that sort of thing!

Paper:  My Mind's Eye Ooh La La "For Her", CTMH Sweet Leaf, Neenah 110 lb cardstock
Ink:  Copic Markers...oh, I forgot the picture of the markers, I"ll upload that tonight
Accessories:  Misc. Dollar store jewels, corner punch for making the scallop, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug

i {heart} copics Fabulous Friday Challenge #6

It's Friday the 19th of March...guess what arrived in my mailbox yesterday?  NEW MOON! Yup, my DVD pre-order showed up 2 days early!  Bwahahahaha!  Guess what I'm doing tonight after work!

Okay, on to today's post...hang in there, it's a long one!

Oh my gosh, how fun is this?  Have you ever checked out Pixel Geek Designs?  They aren't just digital scrapbooking...they have these really great templates too!
This week's i {heart} copics challenge is sponsored by Pixel Geek Designs. There are two FREE templates available for you to use and try out. And this week's prize is one free template of the winner's choosing!

Pillow Box (scroll down about halfway) and House Box (scroll down about 3/4 of the way).

Use either one of these or any other 3D template to create a project for this week's challenge

A few guidelines...
- Copic Markers must be used somewhere on the project - either to color an image or an embellishment.
- Entry deadline is 10pm PST on Thursday March 25th
- When uploading to the PCP gallery, please label projects for this challenge with IHC031910

I purchased the Square Box with Handle template and printed it on a piece of 8 1/2 x 12 paper.  Then, I cut it all out and scored all my folds.  I was smart enough to do a tester before I didn my actual box, so that I was able to see how to put it together...and it was quite simple actually.  I used my Nestabilities to cut circles in two side of the box, so that my Easter Goodies would show through.

I used My Mind's Eye Ooh-La-La papers, Chicken Girl Desing Digi Stamps Eggstra-Special Bunny and CC Designs Sugarplums Easter Emma.  I placed Easter Emma on the front of my little treat box, and then cropped and resized the egg from my Eggstra-Special Bunny digi stamp to use on the back.

Finally, I used the sketch from PCP Saturday Sketche for March 13th, opting to put my sentiment on the inside of my card.
Whew!  Lastly, I ran to the store to find Easter Candy to put into my treat box!  My husband came down to the scrap room to ooh! and aah! over my project, and he commented how nicely the box stays together...and it really does.  I only used a little adhesive on the side where the box wraps around...the rest just nest's together nicely.  Love it!  I can see making many more projects with this template.

Just a quick note on adhesive.  I have a Scotch ATG gun, and it's a monster...but it works beautifully.  But OMG!  Kate sent me some of her i {stick} papers red line tape...this stuff is like super glue!  Super easy to use, super sticky and I'm sure I'll be buying lots of it in the future!

I am also entering my creation into the following challenge:

i {heart} copics Fabulous Friday Challenge #5

Wow, can you believe it's Friday already?!  Lucky for me, I'm headed out with a couple of girlfriends tonight for a little "girl talk" so my batteries will be re-charged before the weekend!
Have you joined us over at Paper Craft Planet yet on the i {heart} copics ?  I'm having a great time getting to know everyone, and I've even picked up a few great copic pointers!

This week's Fabulous Friday Challenge is a Sketch and colour recommendation!   Here is the sketch, and the colours to use are R81, BV11 and B91 or whatever you have that is closest,

I wanted to keep my card simple to show off the new Chicken Girl Design stamps and they're digital!  Check them out here.  I love Digi stamps, and this collection of Spring and Summer images are no exception.  I used Egg Cart for my main image and then cut out the Easter Eggs from Juggling Eggs for my tag.

So join us over at i {heart} copics on PCP for this week challenge and win some of the Chicken Girl Digi's for yourself.
