Valentine #2

Well, it looks like I'm on a roll with the Valentine's this week!  Was chatting with Bananastamper earlier this evening and she challenged me to get posting away on my blog.  So, after the kids were in bed I grabbed a Vodka Cooler (or 3), my piano music and shut the door to my craft room and got down to business.  I'm actually quite pleased with how this turned out.

There are A LOT OF LAYERS on this card.  I just kept adding and adding.  I started out with this week's Sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  It's been a long time since I entered any of my cards in challenges, but I think I'm going to try a little harder this year to do just that. 

I also stamped the inside of my card, just something simple.

It's a Two Card Day!

Wow! I was on a roll Monday!  This first card uses Mojo Monday #147, a super versatile sketch.  My Copics are still at BananaStampers and I was surprised that I even remembered how to make a card without colouring an image!  LOL!

My second card for today uses Sunday Sketch & Stamp #32 a fun sketch that I turned on it's side.  Again, no colouring on this card, just some quick stamping and glue it all together.  Whew!

A friend and I went to see Get Him to the Greek last night.  There were some super funny parts and some not so funny parts.  I have to say though what stands out most for me is Russell Brand...the man is just not my cup of tea...he spends way too much time with his shirt off and it wouldn't normally bother me but he has exceptionally pointy pink nipples...am I allowed to say that in blog land?  Don't let your kids read my blog!  LOL!  It's like when you pass an accident and you really shouldn't look but you can't help yourself...only they're practically looking at me the whole time...screaming at me in fact.  Perhaps I'll have to find a movie where he has clothes on to really assess whether I like him or not.  Am I the only one who feels this way?

A Beary Special Girl

This week, I actually have some birthday cards that I need to make...we went to a party on Saturday and I realized that I was seriously lacking in "girly" birthday cards for kids.  Since my cousin's daughter is turning one this week I decided to use the Sunday Sketch & Stamp Sketch # 20 for her card.  I coloured this image back before Christmas, and let me tell you how nice it is to just pick up the image and go!

The paper is from my DCWV Sweet Stuff Glitter stack, and all I did was cut the paper, that faux lace was already there!  The best part about this digital image from Pink Cat Studio is that the sentiments are free!  I downloaded a few so that I can make a similar card for my stash!  Oh, and I can't take credit for the layout...I totally used Sunday Sketch & Stamp #20

I'm sick and tired of winter, how about you?  I pulled out some bright papers tonight and have been playing around a bit with a spring card.  Hopefully I'll be able to finish it up tomorrow and then I'll post it for you.

A Little Dinosaur Friend

This card was hard!  No beating around the bush, I said it.  See, I have two little girls...and they wear a lot of pink.  We go to a lot of girl birthday parties and buy a lot of girl gifts.  Not much "boy" in our house.  I downloaded this Dustin Pike image early last fall, but was never sure quite what to do with it.  KL Stampin N Scrappin issued a challenge for Appreciate a Dragon Day - it's a real holiday...you can Google it!  LOL!  I immediately knew that I was going to use this image but I didn't want to make it too girly.  I coloured it with my copics and then went in search of a sketch to use.

I found the perfect sketch over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp - Challenge #19, pulled out my Basic Grey Urban Prairie Papers and went to work.  I finished it off with some Prima Flowers, Basic Grey Buttons and MFT Essential Sentiments set.  If I'd had it (or the time to make something on the computer) I think a more fitting sentiment would have been "Hello Friend", but this will do.

Finally, my card qualifies for the new Raise the Bar Challenge Blog for using something new...I've had those flowers since the summer but never cracked the package...same with the buttons...I got them from Jenny in a Secret Sister Swap back in August but failed to crack the package.
