Taking a Break

Well, this is definitely not what I wanted my next post to be, but I dont' know any other way right now.

Hubby & I visited the Neurosurgeon in Toronto on Monday (Apr 18) and the tumor is growing.  He is scheduled for surgery on May 10th.  Even though he'll be awake, it is day surgery, so I'll be taking him to a hotel that evening and then flying home on the 11th.  Assuming all goes well, the Surgeon told him he could go fishing on the 15th of May for Walleye opener!  Isn't it incredible the things they can do with the brain!

That being said, the stress of working a full-time job and dealing with hubby's illness and trying to give my children extra attention, something has to give.  Right now, it is my blog and really I've been letting it fall apart for a while now.  I haven't even been in my craft room since my last card was made.  That being said, I don't plan on not crafting, just taking a break from self-inflicted guilt that comes every Sunday when I know I don't have a card to post.

I am going to take a break until the end of June 2011 at which point I will re-evaluate what I can reasonbly do in the 24 hours that I have to work with.  If I get any cards up before then, well, bonus!  If not, I won't be feeling any pressure.  I know that you all will understand.

Thanks.

Keepin' It Simple

I am counting down the days until Figure Skating is finished...feels like I am always counting down to something these days.   The ice show is this weekend and even though practices are only 30 minutes long, I'm running to the rink every night.  Luckily, we only have one evening of activities scheduled for the Spring, so things should get a smidge easier.  Plus, I am itching to get into my scrap room and clean...I know, not craft...clean.  I'm having a hard time getting any mojo looking at the piles of stuff so I have resovled to do something about it soon.

I was able to carve a few minutes out last Friday to sneak over to BananaStampers house and whip together a few simple cards.   This was one of them.  I hope you like it.

Spring Blossoms

It is trying so hard to be Spring here in Thunder Bay.  The snow is melting and the sun is shining.  The kids have pulled out their bikes and rubber boots and we're not wearing scarves and mitts every time we leave the house.  This can only mean one thing...there is a big snow storm brewing!  LOL!

In an effort to push these thoughts away, the challenge this week at Paper Sundaes is to use Spring Blossoms.  I made this fun birthday card late in the week.  It's not my favorite card every, but it will work perfect for a little kids birthday party so I'll add it to my stash.
I hope that your Sunday is relaxing and warm.

Stamps:  Lily of the Valley
Paper:  Misc. from my stash
