With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are the hardest for me, I really should make a few to have on hand.  For this one, it was for a friend who lost her father-in-law unexpectedly.  I despise sympathy cards that are too dark and dreary, so I went with my Basic Grey Makkarech papers, which are not too bright, but not too cheery.
I kept the front simple, and stamped my message on the inside...excuse the fuzzy parts, I wrote the message in before I took my pictures and I tried using Adobe to erase my message.
I used the Sketch over on the OCC Sketch Challenge Blog.  It worked perfectly I think.

Stamps:  Verve Forever in Our Hearts
Paper:  Basic Grey Makkarech, CTMH Outdoor Denim
Ink:  CTMH Black
Accessories: Prima Flowers, CTMH Bigger Brad in Denim

It seems wrong to say that a sympathy card is lovely but this really is. I despise making them too and totally agree with you about disliking dark and dreary ones. I think you have got the balance between colour and respect juct right.

Having posted my OCC card, also a sympathy card I spotted yours. Sympathy cards can be gorgeous as the recipient does need something to brighten the dark days.

I always enjoy making sympathy cards, since I think it is a chance to give someone something that may bring comfort at a time most needed.
I like what you created.
