Halloween Pop Up

Don't you just love Halloween? I'm a Secret Halloween Lover. I never dress up, but I always want to. The kids and I always talk about what kind of costumes we could get that would work for the whole family. Last year we almost got me the Cruella Deville Costume and Dalmatian suits for the kids...hubby would have had to be a Henchman! Then, we expanded on our little game and laughed about how funny it would be to get little Dalmatian coats for all the kids we go Trick-or-Treating with - there are about 10.

Wouldn't we be the funniest site, me with my white and black hair and long coat like Cruella, Hubby dressed like one of my Henchmen and 10 little Dalmatians running door to door looking for candy! Too Funny. But alas, I was just Mom for Halloween, Dad was just Dad and the kids were both Princesses.

But, on to my card for today. I have to admit, this was my first Pop Up card ever...and I was so scared! But really, there was no reason, it was so simple to make! First I followed some great instructions from a tutorial over on Splitcoast Stampers to make the card and tag. Then, I stamped out some pumpkins from my Pumpkin Face Mix-N-Match stamp set on Orange Paper.

I stamped my sentiment from the same set and started cutting my DP to fit. I cut out the pumpkins and coloured the stems with my Copic Markers. Then I stamped the cut little faces on them. Finally, I layered the pumpkins using PopDots so that they look like they're sitting in front of eachother.

I've also included a picture of the card once it has been opened. You can see how the pumpkins are popped out on this shot, and where the sentiment is hiding. This was a really fun card to make, and so much easier than I thought...sometimes we all need to think a little outside the box to get the best results and today I am a perfect example. Thanks for looking!
