Sick Little Mouse

Oh, when I first saw this image I just had to have it.  Sick little Henry Mouse is just too adorable.  And, I wanted to focus on the image, and have the option of giving this to a male, so I left off all the bling.  Sometimes I think we get so caught up in adding bling that we forget a few simples layers can have the same effect.
Hubby and I made a big score on Saturday...walked into the department store, took 25 minutes and a whole lotta bucks and walked away with our Christmas Shopping complete.  What a relief!  And on the way home we stopped at the local Butcher and ordered a 20lb Turkey and 10 dozen Perogies for Christmas Dinner, which I host every year.  Things are going to be a little slim this year as my parents are going to be in Florida and BananaStamper is taking her family to her parents for Christmas.  Normally we're about 22 for dinner, but it looks like we're down to 16 this year.  I'm sure that before the day arrives I'll have picked up a few more to feed!

All that's left now is to clean the house (hubby's home so he's been assigned one room every day so it's easier to maintain), decorate the house (hubby has also been assigned this task...he's to set up the tree and then wait for direction), bake 6 different kinds of goodies (the kids will help with this), and make more Christmas Cards!  Like a true card maker, I've already started thinking about Valentine's Cards!  LOL!

TGF Battle Week #2

Okay, I'm here asking for you to vote again.  This time the challenge was an Easel card and the team picked mine (below) as our submission this week.  So please, hop on over to The Greeting Farm Challenge and vote for my card so that we can play another week.
It's been a long time since I made a card without a sketch, but I did it!  I knew the image had to be from The Greeting Farm, and since I only have a couple of them, I created the card first and then added the image at the end (usually I build the card around the image)  It was an interesting process.   The paper is all from DCWV The Sweet Stack with Glitter.  I actually "borrowed" the flowers from BananaStamper since I didn't have any that matched just right, and the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy (last summers collection).

You might have noticed that I haven't posted since last week.  Those who know me, know that I never get sick...I'm serious, I have the immune system of a Super Hero!  However, it's year end at work, the kids are super busy with end of year skating practices and extra practices for ice show, and then my husband came home with a head cold.  I wasn't worried...I never get sick.  Well, never say never.  I woke up on March 31st feeling like I have been run over by a truck and it only got worse (especially since I worked a 12 hour day that day).  I didn't actually start feeling better until Saturday afternoon...and even then I went to bed at 9pm.  Oh my.  So, long story short I've faced the sickness and won the battle.  I feel great today and was able to get into my craft room and do a bunch of cleaning and organizing.  I'm all ready and raring to go this week!

If you've made it this far, thanks for listening.  I hope that you have a wonderful Easter Day.

KL Stampin and Scrapping Challenge

Whew, I'm going to get this one in just in time!  I made this card for the KL Stampin and Scrapping Sketch Challenge.  Paper is Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice and the image is Henry Mouse Celebrating from Whiff of Joy.

I'm at the home of my BFF and starting to relax.  I still amazes me that it takes so long to get here...6 hours!  However, I read the Nicholas Sparks book The Notebook while on the plane.  It was Meh? Not my favorite but a good story.  I've read 3/4 of his book The Choice and will probably finish it tonight...it's better than the Notebook I think.  I'll let you know.  So, on top of visiting a couple of scrap stores today it looks like I'm going to have to hit a bookstore!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Excuse the extra spaces here...I'm blogger illiterate on a Mac!  LOL!

Sketch Saturday Birthday Card

Oh my, I can't believe that I've had these Whiff of Joy stamps for a full year and this is the first in that they have seen!  They are not nearly as intimidating as I had made them out to be!  I'll be heading out of town on Thursday and my BFF's guy is celebrating his birthday the day before I get there, so I'm taking this card along for him.  I used the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday Week #88.
The papers are all from CTMH Emporium.  Buttons are Misc. and the flower is Prima.  The image is Oakley with Wooden Sign from the Summer 2009 Collection.  Isn't he just precious?!  Such a finely detailed stamp, but quite easy to colour once I took the plunge.  With spring just around the corner I'm sure I'll be using this set much more!

Paper:  CTMH Emporium, Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, Cocoa
Ink:  Copic Markers, Memento Black

More Henry Celebrating

This card just couldn't be any harder to take a picture of. The background paper, with the cupcakes on it is a powder blue colour...and every time I photographed it, the whole card takes on a blue hue.

I've seen the little white dot technique (forgive me, I don't know the name of the technique) used a lot lately. I'm not especially happy with my first attempt, but it was my first attempt. I think that I'll get better with time...and I do like the effect it has on the card. Plus, I love this little Henry Mouse and his cupcake.

Henry Celebrates!

I got this image from an Image Swap and I'm so glad that I did. He's just the cutest and he colours up just wonderfully. I did him in both Brown and Grey. I used some great Imaginisce birthday paper for this card. I think I am going to give it to my brother for his birthday, which is coming up later this month.

I'm home tomorrow with Dalainee, so between laundry and cleaning I'm hoping to get into the scrap area to create a few more cards. Can't wait to show them to you.

And, I said that I would show you a skating picture, and here it is.
