Whew, it's the start of another week...and that many days closer to Christmas! I was so happy on Friday to receive my new Magnolia Images that I ordered from The Stamp Shoppe. I knew that they were exactly what I wanted to use to participate in the Inky Impressions Design Team Call. I have been a "lurker" over at Inky Impressions for a while...just checking out their great stamps and seeing what everyone is doing with them. When this DT call came out, I knew right away that I wanted to throw my name in the hat. With two little girls of my own, Angelica, Lili and the other girls over at Inky Impressions are perfect for my stamping needs and tastes!
On to my Ornaments....I couldn't stop at one, so I made two! First, I stamped my images in Memento Ink on Neenah 80lb paper (love that stuff!). I used my copics to colour the images and then used some

Cotton Ball White Fun Flock on Tilda's hat and her wings. I pulled out my Nestabilities and some Bo Bunny Paper. I used CTMH inks and a sponge to distress the edges of both my cut outs, since the paper that I was using was a lighter green than I wanted, and the hard edge of the Bo Bunny Paper needed some softening. Normally I like to match my colouring to my papers, but this time I coloured the image first and lucked out that the Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice papers matched my colours. Before I cut my images out, I used a grey marker to outline both images. Not only does it save me from cutting to close to the image, I think it gives a nice border, so that the image isn't too harsh against my background. And, I have to tell you, my favourite thing about colouring Tilda's is her hair. I don't know why, but I just love colouring her hair. I've yet to master a black haired Tilda, but I've definitely been working on it.
I pop dotted both of my Tilda's on the backgrounds, and then played with different embellishments before I finally found what I liked. You'll see that my first ornament has "baubles" (cause I don't know what they're called, I received them from a Secret Sister Swap - thanks Jenny!) and the second has little jewels. Once I added Stickles to Tilda's Halo, I knew that jewels were the way to go with my second ornament. Finally, I added some ribbon to the back and voila! Christmas Ornaments!
These were a lot of fun to make, and so much less work than I imagined. It's too late for this year, 'cause I have other plans, but I can see making a whole bunch of ornaments for next year. Perhaps I'll add that to my "making Christmas Cards all year long" goal.
So, keep your fingers crossed for me for the DT call. Even if I don't make it, I hope that you like what I've made.
