Paper Sundaes

 The layout if from the Basic Grey Challenge #13.  The paper is from the Basic Grey Lemonade Collection.  I coloured the image with my Copics and played around a bit with my blending pen...which is far too neglected.

Did I tell you that I now own all the Copics with the exception of the Flourescents?  Well I do!  So, now that I'm done "collecting" them, I'm hoping to do one tutorial a week until I'm a pro at using them.  And, the reason that I didn't have cards waiting in the wings to post (of course, I was waiting for my few hours alone on the weekend to really get things done) is because I was knitting my little one a hat.  She has a small head for a 4 year old.  Kid hats are all too big and toddler hats are all too small. I'd just send her with a hat that is too big, except that she wears glasses and so if the hat pushes the glasses down she takes off the glasses...and knitting hats is cheaper than buying new glasses! So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.  What do you think?

Great picture, huh!  It was taken by BananaStamper the day that my oldest and I were waiting in the ER to see the doc.  In real life, it's about 1 inch too short...okay for warm days, but not big enough for days when the wind is whipping around - the kids go out to play at school unless the windchill is colder than -25 celcius, so a hat that covers your ears is essential.  So, I have started a second hat that I'm hoping to get finished over the weekend, one with ear flaps.  Once it's done, I'll have her model it too!

Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge #14

I have to tell you how much I love digital stamps...and my favorite ones that the moment are from Paper Makeup Stamps.  Not every item is digital, but most of the one's that I like are...and I have ordered some rubber before!  When I purchased this little guy Dylan, I was thinking of my parents, who are sailors, but are currently in Florida in their "land yacht"!

I especially love that I was able to size my sentiment to fit with my picture.  The colour scheme comes from the Paper Makeup Blog challenge Makeup 4 the Weekend #14 and what a great inspiration.  I can see using these colours again!  Black and White is so classic, and the Powder Blue is so little boy!

I'm feverishly making lists hoping to get everything accomplished before I leave on my trip Thursday.  I have enough cards to schedule posts through next Tuesday...but every time I see a new challenge I wan to drop everything and make another card!  LOL!  I think I'll have to stay away from the Challenge Blogs for the next few days!

Twilight Tuesday Sketch #18

I was a little skeptical of this sketch from Twilight Tuesday at first, but in the end, it was super easy to work with, and I may use it again.  I didn't make my centered image exactly as the sketch, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

The hubby has been dealing with some issues as of late, and when I was making this card, I was thinking of him and the encouragement and support that he needs to heal and get past this.  I know it is kind of a girly card, but he liked it anyway...I'm not actually giving it to him...just showing him what I made while thinking of him!  LOL! 

The sentiment is a digital that I downloaeded from PaperMakeup Stamps.  I just love their sayings, and the digitals are especially great because I can size them how I want.  Paper is Basic Grey Urban Prairie that I picked up last spring on a trip.  I'm trying very hard to use up some of what I have so that I can purchase new stuff...at least, that's what I keep telling myself!  LOL!

Mojo Monday - on Tuesday!

Tuesday already...tomorrow is Wednesday...and well, I'm posting in the evening so really the week is almost half over.  Time flies!  I pulled out my Bo Bunny Paper for this one (thanks again BananaStamper for the great birthday gift!).  I just love this saying from PaperMakeup Stamps...and it's digital so I can make it to fit whatever size I want, and I love that about digital stamps.   The sketch is from Mojo Monday #122...and was quite fun and easy to work with.

So, my funny story for today goes like this.  Picture 2 little girls, 7 and 4 eating dinner...rice, pork chop and a veggie.  Mom is running between the kitchen and the table grabbing various requested items (mom's will understand, you don't actually get the eat with the rest of the family, you're the servant!  LOL!)  Anyway, I come back to the table with something, and see the 7 year old pushing her rice around her plate with her fingers.. Eww!  So, I say what any good mother would say, "C'mon, use your fork, were you born in a barn?" and the 4 year old very matter-of-factly states "Mom, Jesus was born in a barn."  *u*  I simply nodded, there were no words...no words.   It really is true, kids say the darndest things.

Hayseed Hank

I made this card for my hubby....although I'm not sure when I'll give it to him yet. Every year he plants this garden that gets overgrown and we end up with so many veggies at the end of the summer that we have to start giving stuff away...much like we did today - 3 Zucchini's, 2 bunches of Broccoli, some green peppers and a few cucumbers. Anyway, every year I beg him not to plant so much, if only so that he won't spend 45 minutes each day watering and tending to the garden. This year, however, I discovered that the kids are finally getting old enough they are happy to just hang outside with him, and it actually gives me some time to myself most days. So, this card will be a peace offering of sorts...and as any good wife knows, you have to give a peace offering at the just the right time, and in the just the right way so that he knows he's done good, but not too good...I don't want him to think that he's "won" the garden argument! LOL!

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy my card today.

MOJO 94

Yippeeee! I got another Mojo Monday Sketch done in time! The kids were super tired last night, so the little one was put to bed early and the big one vegg'd on the couch watching TV while I crafted before exhaustion set in. I definitely had my Mojo going, 'cause I was able to complete two cards!

To work with this sketch, I pulled out a Close To My Heart paper pack called Unforgettable. I love the colours: Cocoa, Desert Sand, Juniper and Sorbet. What a great combo! Plus, just yesterday I received my order from Paper Makeup Stamps...great stuff! I hope you like it. I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas card.
