A Paper Sundaes Sketch

Hey there.  It's been a while hasn't it.  Hmmm...what's been going on here that makes me a delinquent blogger?  Life...imagine!  I started working 1/2 days a few weeks back and even though I thought that it would make for more time at home, the exact opposite is true.  I feel like I am always behind at home and at work...not just at work now!  Yikes.  Thank goodness hubby is at home with the kids each morning so that I can go to work and not get too far behind.  Plus, just thinking about back to school is stressing me out!

But...I was able to find a few minutes in the craft room to put together a card for this week's Paper Sundaes Challenge - a sketch by Crystal!  And, what a great sketch it is...super easy and very versatile...I will definitely be using this one again.
This week's sponsor is Paper Jewels.  Paper Jewels carries several different stamp lines including Spesch, CC Designs, Bildmalarna and Sweet Pea Stamps. Jenny's prices are fantastic, and she also offers free shipping worldwide on all orders over $50. And she's in Canada...so shipping is super fast!

Paper:  Oooh, I forget...Doodlebug I think...it was in the scrap bin, CTMH Sweetleaf

Mojo Monday - and a cupcake

Okay, here is the card I was supposed to show you yesterday.  It was finished on Monday but life has been so crazy that I didn't get time to take a picture until this afternoon...Thusday!  Ack!

Anyway, I used Mojo Sketch #151 for my card. I am actually going to send this card to my BFF Kelly who

lives far away and I totally missed her birthday last month.  I know she understands, but I hate that I didn't send anything.
My card also qualified for the following challenges:

Crazy 4 Challenges - use a cupcake in your creation
Fab N Funky - use your favorite colours (I love pink and black together)

Thanks for looking...I'll have a Disney Princess card tomorrow!

Some Blog Awards

Wow!  I am such a lucky girl to have great Blog friends.  Today, I received 2 awards...how exciting!

The Cherry on Top Award was given to me by Snappy Scraps and you really need to check out her blog to see the amazing cards she makes with her Cricut.  Amazing stuff!
Rules of the award state that I must tell you 3 things I love about myself.
1. I can cook...I just don't take the time...but really I'm quite good at it.
2. I take birthday's seriously...especially where my kids are concerned...parties only last a few hours but the memories last forever.
3. My mind is like a steel trap...I remember everything!  LOL!

And, here are 5 Blogs that I love and think deserve this award too!

Take a few minutes to check them all out...each offers something unique and always inspiring.

The second award I received was from Monique over at For the Love of Paper...this girl has some amazing talent (and a nice motorcycle!  LOL!) so be sure to check out her creations.

Rules for this award are:
1. Post the award on your blog - check.
2. Link back to the person who awarded it to you - check
3. Follow that Blog - already done!
3. Choose 15 favourite blogs - No problemo
In no particular order, here are 15 blogs that I visit regularly.

As a side note, I really need to get better at commenting...'cause even though I visit these ladies most every day, I don't generally leave comments, so my goal for the next little while is to do just that!

Stay tuned...I should have something crafty to post later today.

Paper Sundaes - It's Charming!

This week at Paper Sundaes, the challenge is to use metal on your project.  I chose to use this great Umbrella Charm which I purchased at this week's sponsor Stamp & Create.  I used this week's sketch over  at Get Sketch and  my card came together quite nicely.  I had to alter it a little bit, as the sentiment just wouldn't fit where it was supposed to.
In fact, I liked it enough I made a second one which more closely follows the sketch.

Stamps: Amy R Stamps Spring Sentiments
Paper: Bo Bunny Ocean Dot & Sugar Dot, White Bazzill, Misc. Black
Ink: CTMH Black
Accessories: White Ribbon from Walmart, Misc. Black Brads, Charm from Stamp & Create

Stitching at Paper Sundaes

Good morning!  This week over at Paper Sundaes the challenge is Stitching.  I tried to do a little "doodling" with my stitching...it looks much nicer in person.  I can't say that I'm overly thrilled with the result, but I think that with time and a little practice I could see using stitching on my cards more often.
I didn't put a sentiment on this one, 'cause sometimes it's nice to have a few blank cards hanging around.  This could easily be a thank you or birthday or how are you card.  And, I finished the inside to match the front.
So, I literally finished this card minutes before I was leaving town for the night...a few friends and I are headed to do some shopping in the US.  Can't wait to spend some time just relaxing.  Kiddo's are back today, so things are gonna get hectic again.

Stamps:  Belle's N' Whistles
Paper:  Bo Bunny Petal Pushers, Core'dinations Cardstock
Ink:  Copic Markers
Accessories:  Nestabilities, CTMH Brads, Prima Flower, Floss from the Dollar Store
